Safety
Taking care of the toys we love should not mean taking unnecessary risks with ourselves, our homes, or the people around us.
Vinyl Vibe Studio was created by pool toy enthusiasts, not a chemical company trying to find another market for industrial products. We use the same materials we sell, and safety is part of how we decide what belongs on our shelves in the first place.
Our approach is simple: understand what we're working with, provide clear information about it, choose lower-hazard alternatives when practical, and give you the information you need to work confidently and responsibly.
Our Phthalate-Free Commitment
Vinyl Vibe Studio does not sell phthalate plasticizers.
That does not mean we believe every inflatable made with phthalates is dangerous, that older toys should be discarded, or that someone is doing something wrong by choosing to use a phthalate plasticizer themselves.
It is simply where we have chosen to draw the line as a business.
Several phthalates have well-established reproductive, developmental, endocrine, and other health concerns, and some are subject to significant regulatory restrictions or scrutiny. When effective phthalate-free alternatives are available, we do not believe there is a good reason for us to introduce those additional hazards into our product line.
Every plasticizer currently sold by Vinyl Vibe Studio is phthalate-free. We select the materials we offer with available safety information, regulatory status, performance, and suitability for inflatable vinyl in mind.
Phthalate-free does not mean hazard-free, however. Plasticizers are still chemicals, and they deserve to be handled thoughtfully.
Read more about this policy in Our Phthalate-Free Promise.
Know What You're Working With
You do not need to be a chemist to take good care of your inflatables. You should, however, be able to understand what you're using.
That is why we are working to keep safety information in one easy-to-find place.
Here you'll find Safety Data Sheets for the chemical products we sell, practical guidance for handling and storage, plasticizer spill-cleanup information, and other resources to help you work safely.
Read the SDS before working with an unfamiliar product. Use appropriate protective equipment. Keep chemicals properly labeled and stored. Clean up spills promptly. And when you're uncertain about something, stop and find out what you're working with before continuing.
We want restoration to be accessible, not intimidating. Good safety practices are part of making that possible.
Protect the Fun
We care deeply about the inflatables this community has kept alive, restored, repaired, collected, and loved for decades. Vinyl Vibe Studio exists to give people better tools for taking care of them.
But the person doing that work matters too.
Your collection deserves thoughtful care.
So do you.
